Been awhile

It’s been a while sense I have had time to really sit and blog about anything. Sense its summer and nice out I have been doing a lot more outside and just taking sometime to do more with my daughter and going hiking a good bit. The weather has been perfect lately, I do not believe it has gone over 85F the past few weeks. So it has not been to hot, I’m not even sure Southwest PA has even has summer yet, though there were a few hot days here an there.

It is quite hard to get back in to the mode of sitting down and writing blog post. I have 5 sites and there just is not enough time in the day for me most of the time to even write on one.  Not that I don’t have ideas, just maybe need to work some more on my time management skills and actually wake up before 11am.  Not that I don’t set my alarm clock for 9am everyday. I just seem to ignore it and go back to bed, then half the day is gone by the time I awake.

Other than that I noticed the other day Blogtomic finally received a PR3. Finally.  I would not have even checked it if I wasn’t talking to Josh Whitford last night, which he mentioned the PR changes the other day.

So anyways I hope to start getting back in and writing a little more here an there and not go MIA for weeks at a time.

New Computer

My new computer finally arrived yesterday, after my old one died by lightning. Fun stuff to have to reinstall all the programs I had, then I don’t even remember half of the stuff I had on my old one. The new computer is a Dell Inspiration 530s and I decided to do a serious upgrade form my last one so this one has like 650 gig hard drive and 3 gigs of ram.

I still have lots of information stored on my old hard drives and it seems that my new computer is SATA and not IDE so now I have to go find a converter to get some of my old information off the other drives. I can’t imagin how long its going to take to get everything reinstalled and moved over to the new system. I’m sure the next few days will be filled with lots of fun.

So far I do like the new system. Runs faster than the old one that’s for sure. Now I have to get use to Vista sense i have never used it. A little different than XP but not by to much.

In some other news I did win a design contest over at Josh Whitford for his business card design contest. A good thing cause I need all the money I can to pay off this new computer.

Why its good to.

Hey everyone. Hope all is going well. I got back from South Carolina with my daughter last Monday. I have been catching up on a lot of other things that needed my attention. Our trip went well and we both had a blast. Spent time with family, went camping at the beach with my mom and step-dad, and just had time to unwind and relax.

So now the bad part is that the other night lightning struck my computer. Yes the reason for the title “Why it’s good to”… Unplug your computer when it’s storming outside. No the lightning did not strike the line outside or the house that would have been nice cause the breakers would have threw. NO the lightning actually hit my computer. How bad does that suck????? So that is a nice little lesson to learn. My new computer was ordered the next day and should be here in a week. I am borrowing a friends laptop for now, so I might not be back in full swing for another week. Mainly using this computer for email and whatnot.

Switching to OIO Publisher

I have finally got around to installing the OIO Publisher Plugin the other day. I have had it sitting on my computers desktop for over a month sense I got it when there was a discount code floating around at that time, so i got it for like $20. I had to wait for a few Adtoll ads to run there time before I wanted to make the switch. I have always hear a lot about the plugin so I figured it was worth the money to try it out.

A cheap way to book flights.

I have been looking for a cheap way to fly home to SC at the beginning of June. Let me tell you Plane Tickets are a Rip Off. For my and my daughter to fly 500 miles/1000 round trip it was going to cost over $700. Unbelievable. Two years ago we both flew the same trip for like $450. I tried every single Flight Booking site out there and all of them were ranging from $650 to $750 for the flights I wanted to take. I know it’s probably the time we are going, and that I am only booking 3 weeks in advance.

Sitehoppin to up beer stock price.

By the end of the month Max from Sitehoppin is planning to boost up the price of Beer Stocks. The price could jump up from $1 a letter to $10 and from $10 a vowel to $20. This move I think might be a good idea, as I have though from the beginning they were pretty low. What will this do for the site? I think it is a good way to get the Beer Stock Market moving and to have some sales start going through.

A good printing place?

I have been working on another project of mine and getting it up and running. One of the things I have done so far is ordered a few business cards from two different print companies Vista Print and GotPrint. Both companies I was really happy with the quality and pricing, except shipping that seemed a bit high at each place. I am not sure if a local printer would have the same low price, but may even out from not paying the shipping cost.
